I love me some Madden and usually have a solid offensive attack in general. but I tend to struggle with the Wide Receivers. Anybody have any advice on getting better use out of Wide Receivers besides throwing the obvious open pass deep or ever so easy Slant routes???

start bringing ur wrs in motion to get an idea of the coverage and practice throwing comeback routes and short out routes to open up the deep ball

Great point... I suck at throwing out routes unless they're short ones... I usually throw pick 6's when I try the deep out routes. but I definitely gotta put my receivers in motion once in a while too... thanks

On other thing is: Realize that the offensive play you are calling is designed to get the "primary" route open. So if you are calling a play that is designed for a drag route, then don't expect the play to go for more than 5-10 yards. If you make a second or third read and get a bigger play, terriffic, but don't call a play designed for a short-medium completion, and then attempt to go for more. Take what's given to you. Or call plays designed for longer completions.
At that point, (for longer completions) it is a matter of reading the coverages (post snap) and having a QB who can put the ball in a good spot for a good completion.
Remember, the goal is to produce a clean pass, to allow for a safe reception against minimal coverage. This requires a lot of practice, and defensive study. Assuming you want to get good at it.

Great point... I usually can't get the deep ball in tight formations like the I-Form and Strong. but once I spread it out I'm alot more effective at taking advantage of the WR matchups.

Well the "I" Formation is a running formation. That is the reason the runningbacks are so close to the Quarterback and Center. This is why the Pro-Formation (split I) was considered a passing formation, because the running backs are so spread out that they are almost split wide, like the 4-wide formation. You still have the advantages of the split I in the standard I formation, but with two wide receivers split out, you need to have a quality tight end to get the most out the pass game in this formation.
It looks like you have that, but when using the I Formation, try to dictate to the defense that it will have to defend a "successful" run game, first, then any passes to your Wide outs, or tight end will be against single coverage, typically. If you don't establish the run game in the I Formation, you are just weakening your passing game with the I Form.
Anyone who has ever played me knows that I will run out of the "I" and that is why any passes I get are much easier...

There are two ways to put your receivers in motion. Pick a play that automatically makes them go in motion before the snap, or clicking the "B" button before moving the controller stick to the direction you want the person to move.
