We need to start discussing the Trading "regulations". This is approaching quickly and we need to define the rules human and cpu trades. Draft picks, etc...
How would and when would you guys like to try and get together to do this?
What are your thoughts Philly on the best way to get this done?

I'd throw my vote twords disallowing all CPU trades. Theirs entirely to much room for interpretation when evaluating whats best for a team if your not that teams active owner. I may think that said team could use player 1 while another user thinks player 1 is a horrible fit for the given team. To much can go wrong.
Build your team through the draft and trades with USER GM's.
Down with all CPU trades.

Well here are my thoughts. First we need to look at what rules we currently have in place.
For human & human trades there are no real rules other than (and I'm paraphrasing here) posting the trade after both humans have agreed, and both humans attempting to use the trade function inside the Madden League page. (Use the "trade" function and when the commissioner advances, the trade goes through) If a human and human trade, and the trade "stinks to high heaven," (I.E. Adrian Peterson for Alex Smith) or someone trades then leaves the league after a short amount of time... etc. All I could see in the rules thread is this:
"Any and all trades must be posted in the Trades Forum and both GMs must post when they agree on a trade for the trade to be consummated. Before the trade is engaged, you must get my approval. - Any draft picks traded during the off-season would have to be agreed on by both GM's obviously, and I (Philly) would need contact from both GMs to confirm the trade. During weeks 1-6, I will make the transfer of players/picks AFTER both GM's send me a copy of what they are trading and what they expect in return. - The maximum trade total is 3 for 3. (players/draft picks) The minimum is 1 for 1. Like the real Commish, I reserve the right to approve or reject any and all trades that include draft picks."
That's about it for human vs. human trades.
Now Human Vs. CPU? (paraphrased again...) The rules are, propose a trade to the trade board, and if the ruling members think the trade is a good one for the CPU, they will vote for it. If they think it isn't a good trade, they will vote against it. As long as a majority of the trade board says "yes" to the trade, it will go through, and the commissioner (Philly Jedi) will execute the trade. If there is a tie in the voting, the commissioner will be the final deciding vote.
That's how trading is currently in the league now. To have any changes or new rules, we must have a majority (more than half) that agrees with the change.
We need to decide:
1. What we don't like 2. What we want to change 3. How it will be worded as to avoid confusion 4. Vote for the change

Any thoughts? Any thoughts from the trade board members?

I like the rules we have. I also think that we need to limit the number of trades a team can make maybe? Some people really get trade happy and it becomes a bit unsim. I do not want to tell anyone how to run their teams, but if you have to trade your whole team away, then maybe you should goto another team..lol
I just do not want us to fall into what we fell into last season. If are in aggreement that the Trade Board has say on CPU trades, then we as a league can't be mad or upset if a trade goes through that we do not agree with.
I just want us all to get along. 8)

It sounds like alot of people are scared... I am fine with CPU trades, but won't shed a tear if it was voted out... (I made the playoffs twice without making 1 trade)
I just prefer the rules to be set up and stay consistent so owners can plan their moves accordingly. Anyone who doesn't like the rules...
1. Point out the issues with the current rules... 2. Suggest possible solutions... 3. Be open to debate from dissenting voters
At this point, I'd be open to any change. (Kinda like Nation is doing now)

I say no cpu trades. My feeling is that there is just too much that is open for personal interpretation as to what constitutes a good deal.
